Belfast app development

Fixed price, written scope, and iPhone and Android from one codebase. Built in Holywood, about 10 minutes from Belfast city centre.

Book a free first call

Every app gets its own fixed quote, and a focused first version usually takes 8 to 12 weeks.

That is for iPhone and Android, built from one codebase.

The price is fixed and agreed in a written scope before work starts, so there is no hourly rate quietly running in the background and no invoice at the end that surprises you.

What shapes the fixed quote

Smallest buildA focused first version

The essentials, done well, and nothing the first users do not need yet.

More to buildA platform behind it

Accounts, payments, live data and an admin system behind the app add to the build.

Adds workOffline and integrations

Working offline and connecting to the systems you already run add work too.

Every app is priced as its own fixed quote, against a written scope and agreed before work starts.

The fixed price, and what it covers

You get a written proposal with the approach, what is included, what is not, a timeline and a price.

We map out the screens and what sits behind them before we price it, so you know exactly what you are getting before any money changes hands.

02

Do you actually need an app?

Sometimes the honest answer is no.

Worth building when your customers need it in their hand, not in a tab.

01Push notifications

Push notifications that land on the lock screen.

02One bar of signal

Something that still works on a pitch with one bar of signal.

03The phone itself

A camera, a calendar, a login that remembers them.

04What apps do best

Those are the jobs an app does better than anything else.

If people only need to book, log in, pay or look something up, a custom web application or a booking system usually does the same job for less, and works on every phone without a download.

If a website would do it, we will say so on the first call, because it is the cheaper answer.

03

One codebase, iPhone and Android

Why most projects need one build, not two.

We write your app once and it runs on both iPhone and Android. Every change lands on both platforms at once, and you pay for one build rather than two.

Agencies that build each platform separately are doing roughly twice the work, and you pay for it twice. This is usually the single biggest saving on an app project.

These are real apps from the App Store and Google Play, with push notifications, offline use and in-app payments where the job needs them. The technical detail is on our native apps page.

04

You own it

Ask every agency this before you sign.

The App Store and Google Play accounts are in your name, and you own the accounts and the app.

YoursDeveloper accounts

We set up the developer accounts in your name.

HandledListings and review

We prepare the listings and handle the review process.

After launchUpdates

We push updates after launch.

Whoever you talk to, get it confirmed in writing who will hold the store accounts and the code before you sign anything.

Apps we've built and run ourselves

Not a portfolio of mock-ups: apps we run ourselves.

Our own app

Ballr, our football club app

Live on the App Store and Google Play since July 2026

Players and managers use the app on their phones, and the committee does the heavier admin on the web platform behind it.

170+Players in the first five weeks
750+Availability replies
400+Matches managed

Built with React Native and Expo, Laravel, Reverb, Stripe Connect and Twilio WhatsApp.

Our own app

LoopDiary

A native habit tracker for iPhone, on the App Store

You set up a habit with the days you want to do it and a weekly target, tick it off through the week, and see at the end of the week whether you closed the loop.

06

How a project runs

You are talking to the person building it the whole way through.

01 A free first call

About half an hour on what the app has to do and who it is for. No obligation at the end of it, and if we are not the right fit we will say so.

02 Scope and a fixed price

We map out the screens and what sits behind them, then price it in a written scope.

03 The build, in the open

You get it on your own phone as it goes, not at the end. Changes are cheapest while it is still being built, so we want you looking early and often.

04 Store submission

We handle both store submissions, the review process and the launch, with the accounts in your name.

05 Looking after it

A monthly plan covers OS updates, fixes and small changes. See our maintenance plans.

The person who scopes your app is the person who builds it, and nothing is offshored.

The studio is at 14 High Street, Holywood, about 10 minutes from Belfast city centre, and you are welcome to call in.

8yrsBuilding for Northern Ireland
How much does it cost to build an app in Northern Ireland?

At Element Seven, every app is priced as a fixed quote per project, for iPhone and Android built from one codebase. The quote is based on a written scope and agreed before work starts. A focused first version usually takes 8 to 12 weeks.

How long does it take to build an app?

A focused first version usually takes 8 to 12 weeks from the first call to the app stores. Bigger platforms take longer, and we tell you that at the proposal stage rather than halfway through.

Do I need separate iPhone and Android apps?

Usually not. One codebase ships to both stores, so you pay for one build rather than two and every change lands on iPhone and Android at once.

Do I own my app if an agency builds it?

You should, and with Element Seven you do. The App Store and Google Play accounts are in your name, and Element Seven handles the store submission for you. Ask any agency to confirm in writing who holds the store accounts and the code before you sign.

Do I need an app at all, or would a web app do?

An app earns its place when people need it in their hand: notifications on the lock screen, use with one bar of signal, the camera, a login that remembers them. If they only need to book, log in or look something up, a web application usually does the job for less. We will tell you which on the first call.

What happens after launch?

We handle both store submissions and the review process, then a monthly plan covers OS updates, fixes and small changes, so the app does not quietly rot.

Has Element Seven built an app people actually use?

Yes. Element Seven built and runs Ballr, a football club app on the App Store and Google Play, made with React Native and Laravel. In the first five weeks after its July 2026 launch, 170+ players signed up, and the app handled 750+ availability replies and 400+ matches.
