The state of web design in Belfast
Our ambition has always been to be recognised for our quality while delivering on the essentials that are key to success online.
When we first started Element Seven, having worked for branding & design agencies, web design companies and lecturing in the past, we noticed the general standard of web design from a purely aesthetic point of view was poor. Without naming names, the majority of the web companies in the country are churning out loads of websites quickly with little concern for the visuals. Some have even skipped testing for basic functionality.
When you are having a new website built, consider the impression it is giving potential customers. They will judge your business on the quality of your website and they can tell if corners are cut. Poor quality visuals reflect a poor quality brand. Remember you want your customers to know you are willing to put the time, effort and money into making their experience of your business as good as it can possibly be.
We understand that you may not be a design professional, making it hard to distinguish the good from the bad, however we know you do understand the effect poor design can have on the perception of your business. If in doubt ask another web designer for a second opinion and don’t be afraid to tell the designer you aren’t happy with what has been produced so far.
A lot of Belfast based businesses invest in websites that aren’t really doing anything for them online. With the emergence of GDPR cheap websites may actually do your business more harm than good. We will always recommend investing in your online offering properly to ensure you aren’t prone to data breaches, security issues and hacking. Your website should be a source of pride and sales, rather than a headache that won’t go away.
If you have any doubts about your website, or the topic in general then please get in touch. We are always happy to offer free friendly advice and remember that as with most things in life, if it's cheap, it’s probably not the best solution.
